BookingBug Developer Documentation

The BookingBug Developer Hub

Welcome to the BookingBug developer hub. You'll find comprehensive guides and documentation to help you start working with BookingBug as quickly as possible, as well as support if you get stuck. Let's jump right in!

Get Started    Guides

Single Sign On

BookingBug single sign-on (SSO) enables you to use the existing authentication on your website with a booking widget, avoiding the need for customers to enter another password when they want to view, modify or cancel their bookings. You will need a BookingBug affiliate account to obtain a secure key to use for the SSO token generation.

The typical method for using the single sign-on token is to wrap the widget with a member-sso-login directive:

<div member-sso-login="{Generated SSO Token}">
  <div bb-widget="{company_id: '{Your Company ID}'}"></div>
</div>

You will need to generate the SSO token server side. Then print this to the DOM as the value of the '''member-sso-login''' attribute. The alternative way to pass in the SSO token is via URL query string, for example "sso-token=0HGNzsrq4gxOzacmPEBmz%2BgU"

Generate a secure key

The API Settings under BookingBug Advanced Settings can be used to generate a secure key for use with SSO token generation.

Note

If the below script is changed / modified BookingBug will not support the custom code.

Please note

If your customer DB has a primary key which is not email, you will need to reach out to BookingBug Support and request for logic change where BookingBug will start to respect the reference key as Primary key instead of email (by default). You will need to cc your Implementation Manager when you reach out.
